On this episode of the Evolving Takes Werk Podcast we’ll discuss that decluttering project from our previous episode and how after clearing the clutter we found what we needed to make a repair in our home.
We’ll also touch on what to do with the things we find as we declutter. Should we trash it, give it away or keep it? Though only keep it if it sparks joy.
Also in this episode, I’ll share how Steel Cut Oats by Better Oats became important to my life after suffering from a stoke and my experience during the pandemic of creating an eBook.
Earlier this year Author Ericka Johnson-Settles released her first book, 7 Step Jumpstart To Becoming Your Best Self. I have self-published for years and this is the first book that I published for another author.
I was honored and excited to work with Ericka on her debut book. She has a passion for pouring into others and she is seeing amazing transformations in people’s lives since her book was released.
7 Step Jumpstart is an incredible tool to have on your journey to becoming your best self.
Purchase your copy today. Congratulations Ericka!!!!!!!
This week I share about my journey of traveling to Phoenix, Arizona to my son's high school basketball game and the newness of that experience.
I also share about some amazing restaurants that I dined at while there.
Eric's Family BBQ
Barrio Queen
Calitacos
Filibertos (They are not mentioned on the podcast, I dined there after recording.)
In conclusion I share about practicing gratitude for others and for self.

This project has been a true labor of love. I honestly thought that it would have been on sale by now. Instead, I’ve found growth in the struggle to bring it to life. What I learned in this particular struggle is to stay with it, even when I was frustrated, even when I felt clueless and even when I was ready to give up. However, I knew that I could not move on to the next project until this one was completed.
Between 2009 and 2016, I self-published 3 books; Ghetto Chick, Infused and #hespoilsme. They have sat in my home and on my laptop for years. This year I made it a goal to create covers for all them and to get them on sale on Amazon.
It was all a dream. Now that dream is a near reality as I have completed the creation of the eBook.
My mommy tells me often, that I’ve always been a dreamer. However, I never dreamed that I would be so immersed in my creativity to the point that it pulls at me to completion. Once I’m done, I am not only proud of my work, I also feel as if energy has left my body. When I finished this project last night and sent it to the printer I was so tired that I fell asleep completely dressed.
So, when will this eBook be for sale? I have no idea. I am picking up the copy today. I need to sit with it and love on it in its entirety before I completely release it to the world. This book is different for me. It details a romantic encounter after my divorce and another failed relationship. I found love. It was inconvenient and beautiful. It was loving. It was sensual. It was out of comfort zone, kinda like creating this ebook.

This Above All To Thine Ownself Be True. — Polonius from Hamlet
Life sent me writing. In 2007 I was helping someone organize a book that they wanted published and as I was assisting I rediscovered my passion for writing. In 2008 I started my blog www.lindarinsights.blogspot.com I absolutely love it. If you search the site you will get to know me a little better. I love God, family, basketball and music.
In 2009 I self-published my first book, Ghetto Chick. Ghetto Chick was honestly a response to a situationship that I was in. It’s a book of poetry that speaks to my failed marriage and the relationship that came afterwards. Later I heard a voice say write the story to the poetry and Sumthing Special was birthed. Sumthing Special is my personal, “Love Jones” and “Brown Sugar” combined. This year brought forth my third self-published book, #HeSpoilsMe. This particular book was the hardest to publish because I wrote in a style that I wasn’t used to sharing with others. Hmmmm….. To be truthful I deleted several writings at the last minute. I got scared. I remember my mom reading it and I was cringing on the inside of what the minister would think. lol. Her response was not what I expected.
Within the past year I have stepped out on faith and registered LindarInsights with the state, created a logo, began an information sheet and now created this site. My goal is to continue with writing and to assist others in bringing their words to life. Forthcoming I will post about all of my self-published works, my writing process and rolling out the plan to assist others with bringing their words to life.
I’m simply operating in what I was created to do. All things truly work together.
